AkzoNobel’s Performance Coatings brands are popular with consumers and business users worldwide. Central to this success is a sophisticated and extensive supply chain, at the heart of which is our European Distribution Centre (EDC) in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
Within this context, your mission in this role is to support the ongoing operation and service levels of the EDC. Thus you ensure that the requirements of the Customer Order Sales (COS) desks in France, Spain, Germany, Benelux and Eastern Europe are met, and that the OTIF performance of the EDC and the transport suppliers is in line with Service Level Agreements and company objectives.

The role and its responsibilities
This vacancy has arisen following an increase in our workload. As such, it represents an outstanding opportunity to be part of a busy and forward thinking Supply Chain infrastructure. It is also an environment in which you are challenged to help us innovate so that we continuously improve our operations.
Reporting to the Senior Logistics Coordinator your core function is to ensure the continuity of supply of products to the end-user customer. Thus you communicate constantly with the COS desks, factories, EDC and transport companies as you create export documents (dispatch notes, DGNs, shipping invoices etc).
Further, you check and resolve system errors in a timely fashion to minimize any potential delays, and you update daily loading plans in connection with warehouse and freight forwarder requirements. You also ensure all inbound receipt are issues corrected in a timely manner, and you ensure all stock quarantine/pass adjustments are actioned quickly and accurately in both MfgPro and LSP systems.
At all times you ensure that all returns are handled within agreed timeframes. You also book courier and parcel services and provide MSDS and COO documents and issue as required.
In addition you support the invoicing process, ensuring that documentation is signed and distributed to the correct departments for payment on time. You also carry out random checks to ensure invoices are correct and clearly marked, and you ensure all financial SRM processes are adhered to in a timely manner.
Further activities include truck safety audits and supporting annual stocktakes.
At all times you maintain office H&S standards; including compliance with the Clear Desk Policy.
The position is based at our office in Nijmegen but you will travel occasionally to other AkzoNobel sites in the Netherlands.

- A good standard of education;
- Holder of certificates for IMDG(sea) / IATA (air) / ADR (road) transport of dangerous goods;
- Good levels of IT skills including Excel/Word and MFGPro;
- Knowledge of export processes and the shipping of hazardous materials;
- A high level of written and spoken English and Dutch.
